Standard 5: An education leader promotes the success of every student by acting with integrity, fairness, and in an ethical manner.

- Consider and evaluate the potential moral and legal consequences of decision-making
- Promote social justice and ensure that individual student needs inform all aspects of schooling
First and foremost educational leaders must uphold a high
level of ethics and moral code within the school setting. Acting with integrity entails knowing what
you believe and not wavering from your belief in your actions. Acting with
integrity will foster trust between staff and the leadership team. School administrators are often presented
with situations where more than one outcome could be considered fair. When presented with a dilemma that includes
fairness an effective leader will try their best to find a compromise or make
their decision based on what they best possible outcome is as related to how it
will effect student learning.
